Article at Giants Site Parking Brochure New Parking Map Since the end of the 2006 season, there has been a great deal of activity on the grounds of the Meadowlands Sports Complex, home of Giants Stadium. Construction continues on Xanadu, the dining and entertainment center being built adjacent to Continental Airlines Arena, and work on the new rail system is now underway. The most significant activity is the construction of the new stadium, which will be our home -- and your home -- starting in 2010. The initial phase of the construction has commenced, which will present challenges for all of us. As a result, we need to implement a number of changes in our parking procedures and traffic patterns, starting with the 2007 football season. One of the first impacts of the new stadium’s construction is that we have lost approximately 5,000 parking spaces on the Meadowlands Sports Complex. To overcome this shortfall and mitigate inconvenience to you, the Giants have committed time and expense to insure that we have an efficient plan in place to allow you to enjoy your day-of-game experience. In this brochure, we will explain our plan, one that emphasizes car pooling, parking permits and off-site parking areas with a shuttle service. Starting this season, all game day parking on the Meadowlands Sports Complex will be pre-paid, permit parking. If you are operating a vehicle and plan to park at the Complex on game day, you must have a permit to do so. If you do not have a permit, you will be directed to off-site parking areas where a shuttle bus service will be provided to the Sports Complex. One other consequence of the loss of parking spaces is that there will no longer be reserved parking available in parking lots 4 and 18. All ticket holders are strongly encouraged to car pool to help reduce the demand for parking. Based on our research, we have determined parking permits will be made available for purchase based on the following formula: Accounts with 1-5 season tickets = 1 parking permit The cost for a 2007 season parking permit will be $150, which includes parking permits for two preseason and eight regular season games, $15 per game. A season parking permit will consist of 10 individual parking passes, one for each preseason and regular season game. There will be a limit of six season parking permits for any one account. With your patience and cooperation and more efficient administration of the parking lots, it is our hope that the reduced number of cars on the Complex on game day will result in a more efficient arrival and departure. ON-SITE PARKING Parking Permits • Parking permits will be required for all vehicles entering the Sports Complex or stolen. Parking Rates The following vehicles will occupy lined parking spaces: • Cars/SUV’s: $150 for 2007 season permit (parking permits for 10 games). The following vehicles will not occupy lined parking spaces: • RV’s, trucks, campers, vehicles pulling trailers, barbecues in tow etc.: $150 for 2007 season permit plus an additional $60 per game to be paid at the toll booth. These vehicles must park alongside the curbs in the parking lots and not in the lined surface parking spaces. Policies • ONE CAR, ONE SPACE: Please be considerate of your fellow Ticket Holders. Tailgaters will be required to restrict their party to the space occupied by their vehicle or on adjacent grass berms and paved areas on the islands located between the parking lots. Accessible parking (Ticket Holders with disabilities) • Ticket Holders with ADA plates or placards must also possess a season parking permit to gain access to the on-site parking lots. Tailgating • Tailgating is permitted at the Meadowlands Sports Complex parking lots provided that permit holders use the same space occupied by their vehicle. Parking is first come, first serve; saving of parking spaces will not be permitted. OFF-SITE PARKING General • Off-Site parking lots have been secured for Ticket Holders driving to Giants games without pre-paid 2007 season parking permits. Shuttle Bus Service • Shuttle buses will transport Ticket Holders from the off-site parking lots to the Meadowlands Sport Complex. Additional/Alternative Means of Transportation • Public buses traveling between the Meadowlands Sports Complex and the New York City Port Authority Bus Terminal are available on game days. Drop-off and pick-up at the Stadium is located near Lot 14. A round trip ticket costs $10.00 and a one-way ticket is $6.00. They are there to assist you and to make parking safe for everyone. Those who do not adhere to the parking guidelines and/or participate in activities that create an unsafe environment will be held responsible. Parking passes, like your tickets, can be tracked back to your season account. Unacceptable conduct or violations of the parking policies described in this brochure can result in the possible loss of season tickets. Comments (1)
